Making Jello Shots

How to Make Jello Shots:

Jello Shotz are a fun way to serve alcohol at any party, bar, nightclub or fundraiser event. All you need is a package of jello (gelatin), water, alcohol (ofcourse!) and some plastic shot cups or jello shot syringes.

It's just like making regular jello, except alcohol is added instead of the cold water. You can use any flavor of jello and any kind of alcohol for your Jello Shotz. Jello mix boxes usually come in 2 sizes, small (3-ounce) box which calls for a total of 2 cups of liquid and will make 10 2 oz. Jello Shots. The larger Jello mix box (6-ounce) calls for 4 cups of liquid and makes approximately 20 2 oz. Jello Shots per batch.

*Consider making 3-5 Jello Shotz per guest. Remember Jello Shotz have as much alcohol as mixed drinks or beer. Make sure your party guests eat responsibly!

How To Make Jello Shots

Jello Basic Instructions:

The basic way to make jello shotz is simple . . . substitute half of the water called for with alcohol (all of the cold water). A 6 oz. package of Jello (large) calls for 2 cups of boiling water and 2 cups of cold water. The liquor will be substituted for the cold water. (A larger amount of alcohol can prevent the Jello from setting up.) Please note that the higher the proof of the alcohol you choose, the smaller amount your use and the more cold water you will need to set your shots.

How To Make Jello Shots Tips, Tricks and Suggestions:

  • Use a FLAVORED vodka or alcohol to really enhance the taste of your jello shotz!

  • Top off your jello shotz with “whipped cream” to give them an awesome look!

  • EZ-Squeeze™ Cups work best, they let you “squeeze” the jello out, with no cracking, digging, or fussing!

  • Give yourself TIME to make the shotz, don’t rush! Set out all the cups on a tray first, and then fill ‘em.

  • Non-Stick Cooking Sprays will alter your flavors!

  • For best results, allow the jello shotz atleast 12hrs for cups (5 hours for syringes) of cooling or “setting” time; they will pop out of the cups better if they are fully chilled.

  • If using jello shot syringes, you should dress up as a naughty nurse or bad doctor and “administer” your jello shotz to everybody!
